Job Summary

We are looking to hire an experienced Semi Senior within our Commercial Practice team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to put their experience to use while working with other members of the team in developing best-in-class services for clients – both international and local. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring our clients maximize tax opportunities and provide robust tax solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients.
Job Details
- Managing multiple client projects at given times.
- Preparation of technical Research and advisory opinions on various pivotal issues affecting the clients’ business within the tax space.
- Play a big role in supervision, training, and mentoring lower-level employees within the team.
- Communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Communicate fully in a timely, informative, and accurate manner with superiors and others who need to know.
- As the case may be, liaise cross-functionally with a bid to resolve various client-related tax issues.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCY
- Sound understanding of the provisions of the Nigerian Finance Act.
- Previous experience in preparing monthly payroll and processing client employee data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and develop strong relationships with client personnel and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Prior experience in resolving disputes arising from tax audits/investigations.
- Sound understanding of immigration compliance requirements.
- Ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders across all levels in the Firm.
- Competency in tax structuring and computations (including deferred tax), and tax due diligence.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years in a public accounting firm.
- The possession of ICAN/ACCA certification is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- A sound knowledge of WHT, VAT, Deferred Tax (DT), and other tax-related computations.
- Maintain excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent track record in project management.
- Ability to work independently, but also work well with others.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- A minimum of a Second Class (Upper) degree from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 5 O’ level credits including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting.
